Help Center: How to Add an External Registry to EasyRegistry

Have an existing gift registry on another website? You can link it or import it into your EasyRegistry using our Linked Registries feature.

Follow the steps below to add an external registry to your EasyRegistry account:

1. Go to your Gift Wishlist

Log in to your EasyRegistry account and navigate to your Gift Wishlist page (where you manage your gifts).

2. Click "Link Registry" or "Transfer Registry"

On your Gift Wishlist page, look for a button labeled "Link Registry" or "Transfer Registry" (depending on your account features). This button is located in the action bar alongside other gift management options like "Add New Gift" and "Bulk Upload".

3. Choose how to add your registry

You'll be taken to a form where you can add your external registry. Depending on your account features, you may see different options:

Add Registry Link

This option keeps your other registry separate but adds a clickable link to it on your EasyRegistry page.

Select this if you want guests to be able to visit both your EasyRegistry and your external registry, but you want to manage them separately.

Note: The registries will not sync with each other. Make sure you don't put the same items on both registries to avoid duplicate gifts.

Transfer Items

This option moves all items from your other registry into your EasyRegistry, creating one unified list.

Perfect if you want to consolidate everything into EasyRegistry and manage just one registry. After the transfer, you can delete your other registry.

Note: This feature may not be available on all accounts. If you don't see this option, you can use the "Add Registry Link" method instead.

4. Fill out the registry details

Complete the form with your external registry information:

  • Store: Select the store from the dropdown list (Amazon, Target, etc.) or choose "Other" if your store isn't listed.
  • Registry URL: Copy and paste the full web address of your external registry. Make sure it's the shareable public link to your registry.
  • Additional Info: If you selected "Other" as the store, or if you want to provide extra details to help identify your registry (like registry names, partner's names, etc.), add that information here.

Click the "Transfer Items" or "Add Registry Link" button to save your external registry.

5. Verify and manage your linked registries

After adding your external registry, return to your Gift Wishlist page to see the results:

  • You'll see a new "External Registries" section at the bottom of your gifts list that shows all your linked registries.
  • Each linked registry displays the store name, type (Link or Transfer), and provides a "View" button to visit the external registry.
  • You can remove any linked registry using the "Remove" button if you no longer want it connected.

6. You're all set!

Your EasyRegistry now includes your external registry! Guests visiting your EasyRegistry will see your linked registries in the "External Registries" section, giving them easy access to all your gift options in one convenient location.

Whether you linked or transferred your registry, your guests now have one place to go to find all your wishes.

Tips and Things to Keep in Mind

Make sure your other registry is public

For EasyRegistry to access and transfer items from your external registry, the registry on the other site usually must be public or shareable (not password-protected). Double-check your settings on that site (for example, mark your Target/Amazon registry as "public") before attempting to link or transfer.

Linking vs. Transfer – know the difference

When you link an external registry, the registries remain completely separate. Guests will see a clickable link to your external registry, but purchases made there won't automatically update on EasyRegistry. You'll need to manage both registries independently.

Avoid putting the same item on both your EasyRegistry and the linked registry, because that could result in duplicate gifts.

When you transfer items (if available on your account), EasyRegistry will attempt to import the items from your external registry into your EasyRegistry list. This creates one unified registry that you can manage entirely through EasyRegistry. After a successful transfer, you can safely delete the original external registry.

Choose the right approach for your needs

Linked Registries are meant to make your life easier. If you link a store registry, you can keep store-specific benefits like completion discounts or rewards while giving guests the convenience of finding all your registries through your EasyRegistry page. If you transfer items, you get the satisfaction of managing everything in one place with EasyRegistry's features. Pick the method that fits your needs, or even use both approaches for different stores!

Adding or linking external registries on EasyRegistry is completely free. We want you to feel safe and confident using this feature, so there are no hidden fees to worry about – it's all about making your registry experience as easy as possible (just like our name promises).
