Receive Bank Transfers in More Than One Currency

If your guests live in different countries, you can add a bank account in each currency to the same registry. Guests giving to a wishing well or cash fund choose the currency they want to give in, see the matching account and pay with an ordinary local transfer.

Nothing is converted along the way. A guest who gives A$200 is recorded as A$200, and you see it in its own Australian dollar total, separate from the rest of your registry.

How it works

  1. Turn on Bank Transfer in your registry's Payment settings and enter your main bank account.
  2. Below it, add up to four more accounts. Choose each account's country and currency, give it a name your guests will recognise, such as Wise Australia, and enter its details.
  3. Share your registry. When a guest gives to a wishing well or cash fund, they choose a currency and enter the amount in that currency.
  4. The next page shows the account for that currency in full, with your other accounts listed underneath. The guest also gets the details by email.
  5. The guest pays from their own bank. When the money arrives, mark the gift as received on your Purchases page.

Currencies you can use

Each account can be in Australian dollars (AUD), New Zealand dollars (NZD), British pounds (GBP), euros (EUR, for Germany or Switzerland), Swiss francs (CHF), South African rand (ZAR), US dollars (USD), Malaysian ringgit (MYR), Brazilian real (BRL) or Chilean pesos (CLP). A registry holds up to five active accounts in total, including the main one, and an Australian account can show a PayID as well.

How contributions and totals appear

Every contribution stays in the currency the guest chose. EasyRegistry never converts between currencies, so there is no exchange rate to look up and no conversion fee from us.

Your Purchases page shows one total per currency, each split into pending, received and removed. There is no combined figure, because adding pounds to dollars means nothing without a conversion. Each purchase also shows which account the guest was sent to, and the purchases export includes the currency and account name.

A contribution in a second currency sits in its own total. The progress shown on a wishing well or cash fund counts your registry's main currency only.

Gifts with a set price

A gift with a fixed price is always bought in your registry's currency, because that is the currency of the price. The guest sees the account in that currency first. Choosing a currency applies to wishing wells, cash funds and other gifts where the guest sets the amount.

Example: a UK registry with guests in Australia

A host based in London creates a wedding registry on easyregistry.co.uk, so the registry is in pounds. Their main account is a UK bank account, and they add a second account named Wise Australia in Australian dollars.

An Australian guest opens the honeymoon fund, chooses AUD and enters 200. The next page shows the Wise Australia BSB and account number, and the guest sends A$200 from their own bank like any local payment.

On the host's Purchases page the pound total is unchanged, and a separate Australian dollar line shows A$200 pending. Once the money lands, the host marks it as received.

Multiple bank accounts FAQ

Can guests choose which bank account to pay into?

Yes, when your accounts are in more than one currency. A guest giving to a wishing well or cash fund chooses the currency, and the next page shows the account in that currency first, with your other accounts listed below it.

Does EasyRegistry convert the money into my registry's currency?

No. A contribution is recorded in the currency the guest chose, at the amount they entered. No exchange rate is applied, and amounts in different currencies are never added together.

How many bank accounts can I add?

Up to five active accounts, including your main account. Give each one a name so guests know which to use.

Do I need a Stripe or PayPal account?

No. Bank transfer works without either, and EasyRegistry charges no fee on bank transfers. Guests pay straight into your account.

How do I know a guest has paid?

The guest records their gift on your registry before they transfer the money, so it shows as pending on your Purchases page. Check your bank account, then mark the gift as received.

Does this work on a password protected registry?

Yes. Password protection is a Premium feature, and it works alongside bank transfers in any of your currencies. Account details only appear after a guest chooses to give, never on the gift list itself.

I can't see where to add another account. What should I do?

Contact us with your registry link and we will switch it on for your registry.
