Baby shower trivia: 30 questions and answers

Baby shower trivia works best as a short team quiz of 15 to 30 questions mixing real facts with a few easy wins. The fact answers below are checked against published sources, such as the ABS count of 292,318 births registered in Australia in 2024. Tap each question to reveal the answer.

How to run the quiz

  1. Pick your questions. Choose 15 to 20 for an in-person shower or the full 30 for a longer one. Mix the groups so no team is stuck on numbers all afternoon.
  2. Make teams. Teams of three or four, mixing people who do not know each other. It doubles as an icebreaker.
  3. Print or share the sheet. Give each team a numbered answer sheet. On a video call, share your screen with one question at a time.
  4. Read each question twice. Allow about 30 seconds per question, and longer for the number questions.
  5. Swap and mark. Teams swap sheets and mark as you read the answers out. For number questions, give the point to the closest team.
  6. Add a parents round. Finish with five questions about the parents-to-be, answered by the parents themselves, so the quiz feels personal.
  7. Have a prize ready. A small prize for the winning team and one for last place keeps it light. See prize ideas in baby shower games.

Writing your own questions

  • Ask the parents for five facts about themselves as babies: birth weight, first word, where they were born. These make the best final round.
  • Keep number questions to "closest wins" so no one has to know the exact figure.
  • Check any fact you add against a published source, such as the ABS or a government health site, rather than a quiz site.
  • Avoid questions about birth stories, weight gain or anything the parent-to-be might find personal, unless they wrote the question.
